Get straighter teeth, the invisible way
Invisalign has quickly become one of the leading solutions for getting straighter, more even teeth. Chances are, if you have minor and even moderate spacing or alignment problems with your teeth, you’re a candidate for Invisalign.
Using a series of plastic retainers, Invisalign gradually corrects teeth that are out of place without ever subjecting you to the metal that so many patients think of when the word “braces” comes to mind.
Our patients in Cypress overwhelmingly recommend Invisalign due to the way it gradually and gently corrects teeth. By using 3D imaging, Invisalign maps out the spacing of your teeth now and predicts what the end-result will look like after your Invisalign treatment is complete. Using the same 3D imaging, a series of aligners are created that you will wear for about 2 weeks each, before the next retainer is provided for wear.
At Cypress DDS, our dentists have been working with Invisalign since the very beginning. Needless to say, we’ve seen virtually every scenario there is to see when it comes to treating improperly aligned and spaced teeth. After all, when it comes to fixing your teeth, don’t you want to work with the experts?
It’s almost Invisible: naturally, the main reason many patients prefer Invisalign over traditional braces is the fact that it’s almost imperceptible. In fact, many patients report that friends and loved ones only noticed the clear plastic retainers when the topic of conversation turned to the patient’s Invisalign experience.
Brushing is a breeze: One of the greatest challenges associated with traditional braces is the fact that it can be difficult to brush with them. Many patients experience yellowing where brackets once were after braces are removed (which can be fixed with whitening). With Invisalign, retainers are removed for brushing – making your daily tooth brushing routine no different than it’s ever been.
The retainers are removable: Despite the fact that you should be wearing your retainers for at least 20 hours a day, the fact they can be removed is a major plus for patients of all ages. Have a special event coming up? Just take them out! But don’t forget, the more time spent not wearing your aligners, the slower the results will be.
While Invisalign is great for correcting minor to moderate alignment and spacing issues, more severe rotation and bite correction typically require either add-on’s to the Invisalign system or, in some cases, a traditional orthodontic solution. If this is the case for you, do remember that traditional braces have come a long way, with multiple solutions available that minimize the visual impact with clear components or even braces on the back of your teeth.
